Bowleaze Cove has been a family favourite for many years, it is interesting how it has changed over the years but still kept it natural beauty. I have a small collection of older views:

Above is a postcard of Bowleaze Cove, probably from the 1970's but open to correction.

Above another postcard, around the 1960's. Notice the smaller the Riviera Hotel on the hillside.

Above another postcard, a tad earlier than the postcard above it again.

Above postcard
dated 1945, no Riviera Hotel on the hillside.

Above is dated around 1935 - Notice the tents on the hillside, during August you
can still camp on the hill, although further round

Like the above, but from a different angle.

Above postcard dated 1933.

Above is dated around 1968.

Another picture dated 1968 looking from the far side of Bowleaze Cove, looking towards Weymouth. That puts them directly in front of the Riviera Hotel.

Above an undated picture "Bowleaze Cove from Golf Course". See pictures of the Nineteenth Hole at the bottom of this page.

Below is a modern picture of the Spyglass Inn, and directly below that is two old pictures of it when it was 'The Nineteenth Cafe'. I had known that there was an old putting green at Bowleaze Cove, and this picture reveals its exact location - I wish I could put a date to it!

Bowleaze Cove area has long had camp sites, below is a selection of photos showing them.

Above is a great view from Preston, looking over the various camp site towards Bowleaze Cove.

Above Prebendal campsite, Bowleaze Cove.

Above Prebendal campsite, slight different angle from one above.
